Handy moving tips
Moving doesn’t have to be hectic. Here are some handy moving tips to help you with you preparations so that everything goes smoothly on the big day.
Organisation
- Discuss how the move will be organised with Dockx Movers. Inform the movers about valuable, breakable and heavy objects.
- Begin on time, pack a few moving boxes every day.
- Work systematically. Go through each room separately and use separate boxes for each room. This will keep everything easy to oversee.
- Make an inventory of the boxes in each room.
- Number each moving box and clearly mark which room the box must be put in in the new location.
- Keep all keys, assembly tools and lists together in one box. This will enable you to start unpacking in an organised way once you have arrived.
Packing
- Use suitable boxes for your things and check that they are strong enough.
- The golden rule for choosing the right box: the heavier the object, the smaller the box.
- Fill boxes that are not totally full to the edge with padding material so that its contents cannot move about.
- Heavy objects should be on the bottom with lighter objects on top.
- Boxes must not be heavier than 20 kilos.
- Close all boxes properly and seal them with strong adhesive tape.
