Dockx Movers moves exceptional Jacques Tati exhibition as part of the Film Festival Ghent
In September, Dockx Movers International moved the Jacques Tati exhibition from various Parisian museums to the Caermersklooster in Ghent. All objects will be safely returned to their home base at the end of January 2011.
To fully revive the universe of Tati, director of –among others- Playtime (1967), Mon Oncle (1958) and Les Vacances de M. Hulot (1953), the Film Festival Ghent created a unique and playful exhibition.
Tati fans can indulge themselves in original items and reproductions: the office environment of PlayTime, the design interior of Villa Arpel, the bicycle of postman François of Jour de Fête, Tati’s legendary pipe in XL size and numerous unseen photographs, posters, props, outfits, scale-models and storyboards. For those who are less familiar with Tati’s oeuvre, it is a playful and colourful environment where one can become acquainted with the humour and aesthetics of an exceptional director. In total, the exhibition consists of over 500m² exhibition space and dozens of film clips.

Dockx Movers looks after move for Mercedes-Benz Belgium Luxembourg
Mid January 2010 Mercedes Benz Belgium Luxembourg moved its administrative offices to a new building on the existing site. The operation concerned 350 people from three different sites.
Mercedes-Benz BeLux used the services of Dockx Movers as well as other companies to complete this move successfully.
For Diane Van de Velde, Facility Administration Officer, and Raf Boterdaele, Manager Building & Facilities, the result of this broad based operation and the collaboration with Dockx Movers is very positive.
“All we can say is that everything went well from beginning to end. We started by reviewing the mission and its practical implementation in preparation meetings. They made an inventory of the equipment volume to be moved so that vehicles and labour force could be reserved. Then they visited the various sites to check exactly how to proceed and study the various possibilities. Thanks to their expertise, we were able to develop a simple action plan quite rapidly so that we could inform all personnel concerned quickly and efficiently of the procedure to be followed for preparing the boxes. These clear instructions made the transfer easier from one site to another. None of the packaged and labelled boxes was lost.
As the move was done in several phases, we organised a debriefing at the end of each stage to discuss any improvements that could be made and plan the next stage. Everything went very smoothly, and I must say that Dockx Movers personnel were always very friendly and put their heart into their work, even when they had to brave storms and snow.
Thanks to the professional approach of Dockx Movers, the rapidity of their actions, flexibility and ability to solve problems, we will have a pleasant memory of this move, which otherwise could have been quite stressful.”
